BMS Networking

  • The BareMetal VLAN is directly connected to the customer’s VCD Org Edge (Tier 1).
  • It does not use the Overlay segment, but VLAN ID instead. The concept of DHCP is not effective; it assigns a static IP.
  • The BareMetal VLAN is connected via the service interface.
  • The customer can manage firewall rules and NAT rules of the VCD Org Edge as needed.
  • Customers must define the IP range for BareMetal to avoid any conflict with the tenant or bvpn IP ranges.
  • Customers must provision at least 300 Mbps out of 1 Gbps (for a Tier 0 VRF – Premium VRF) when the Bare Metal connectivity uses a dedicated VCD Org Edge.
  • The Tier 0 VRF standard is not supported for BareMetal connectivity.
