BMS Networking
- The BareMetal VLAN is directly connected to the customer’s VCD Org Edge (Tier 1).
- It does not use the Overlay segment, but VLAN ID instead. The concept of DHCP is not effective; it assigns a static IP.
- The BareMetal VLAN is connected via the service interface.
- The customer can manage firewall rules and NAT rules of the VCD Org Edge as needed.
- Customers must define the IP range for BareMetal to avoid any conflict with the tenant or bvpn IP ranges.
- Customers must provision at least 300 Mbps out of 1 Gbps (for a Tier 0 VRF – Premium VRF) when the Bare Metal connectivity uses a dedicated VCD Org Edge.
- The Tier 0 VRF standard is not supported for BareMetal connectivity.

Notes : T1 provides the gateway for BMS. DHCP is not part of underlay for BMS. Static IPs are configured on BMS. However customer can deploy their own DHCP server connected to tier1 for DHCP of BMS.
Each vCoD customer can have BMS. Sharing of BMS between vCoD tenants is not an option in vCoD
