Internet access
Overview
Secured Internet access offered to all customers of IaaS Dual Site / HDS located in each datacenter. The internet connection can be shared by all the Organization’s vDCs
Internet traffic is filetered with 2 Global Firewalls, one per DC.
VDR is the preferred path for ingress and egress traffic . CHA will be Stanby path.
In simple words, VDR will be gateway for internet traffic.
The functional elements offered are as follows :
- a redundant Internet connection to Orange’s two secure datacenters, SAS 70 type II certified, monitored 24/7,
- allocation of public IP addresses in predefined ranges,
- burst capability with a defined limit.
Network Continuity & Public IP Failover
In Case of Site Failure , network connectivity will be restored from available site i.e. CHA.
Even Public IP assigned to tenant edge gateways will also be failover in case of site failure.

Billing
Volume based billing defined for your Internet Access.
Volume billing :
- Principle: with this billing method, you are invoiced for the quantity of outgoing traffic actually recorded over the corresponding period (quantity in GB).
- Calculation method: measurements are taken every hour and consolidated monthly. The data is collected using VMware VRNI software on the following component: total_tx_bytes
- Implementation: to activate this billing method, you must request it from your Orange contact when you order your Cloud Avenue tenant
