Virtualization from a VM

Overview

By default, you cannot enable virtualization from within a VM; this setting is “Disabled“. For some OSes, activation must be done with the VM stopped.

If you wish to enable it, you need to “Expose hardware-assisted processor virtualization to the guest operating system“.

Prerequisites

• Access your VMs
• Configure a VM

You may encounter this message if you install, for example, the Hyper-V role on your VM.

From the Details of your VM > “Calculate” > “Modify“
