Flexible Engine - File and Application Backup user guide

FAB preconfigured Backup Plans

In order to simplify as much as possible the backup configuration process, FAB provides a list of available preconfigured Backup Plans usable by everyone.

The Plans naming provides all required information to determine their use case:

When using FAB preconfigured Universal plans, your data will be sent directly to the FAB built-in libraries in our Flexible Engine Object Storage buckets.

These plans are not editable, as they are usable by everyone.

Their configuration is as follows:

Note:

For improved security of your data, the Plans using the PARIS region storage, are all configured with the 3AZ Object storage type of buckets

To determine which Plan to use in which case, these are the questions you should be able to answer:

  1. Do I want to use the FAB storage in Flexible Engine?
–> Use of FAB preconfigured plans or build my own plan
  2. What type of data is to be protected?
    –> Specific plan
  3. Where do I want my protected data to be stored?
    –> Stored data location
  4. Do I need a secondary copy of the data, stored elsewhere? (knowing that for the PARIS location, the data is already stored in 3 AZs)
    –> Possible secondary location
