Upgrade of a set of services dedicated to databases
What’s new?
We have made updates to the services Distributed Database Middleware (DDM), Data Replication Service (DRS), Document Database Service (DDS) and Relational Database Service (RDS) to expand the scope and cover more operations related to database management in the cloud.
Relational Database Service (RDS)
New MySQL features
- Added Source Backup Region.
- Enabled modification of the default value of the database parameter block_encryption_mode to aes-128-ecb.
- Now displays instance classes (for example, general-purpose, dedicated) on the Basic Information page on the console
New PostgreSQL features
- Supports PostgreSQL 13.6
- We have removed the restriction that storage space cannot be scaled up during the backup.
- Added Source Backup Region.
- Now supports the auth_delay plug-in.
- Updated the kernel minor versions of PostgreSQL 9.6, 10, 11, 12, 13, and Enhanced Edition to synchronize with the community.
- Supports open APIs for stopping and starting an instance.
- Supports “no billing mode” for stopped pay-per-use database instances.
New SQL Server features
- Displays the metrics iops_usage and io_bandwidth_usage for extreme SSDs and ultra-high I/O disks on DBS Operation SystemEnabled modification of the default value of the database parameter block_encryption_mode to aes-128-ecb.
- Enables users to configure flow control during database backup.
- We have fixed the problem that prevented users from performing a PITR restore after a failed restore and the incremental backup is disabled by default.
Document Database Service (DDS)
Enhancements
- You can now duplicate DDS instance names.
- The service supports the cacheSize parameter in the parameter group.
Data Replication Service (DRS)
Enhancements
- The service now supports real-time synchronization from PostgreSQL to PostgreSQL.
- Supports real-time synchronization of PostgreSQL 9.5.x, 9.6.x, 9.7.x, 10.x, 11.x, 12.x and 13.x.
Distributed Database Middleware (DDM)
Enhancements
- Enabled description for disk space check items of data nodes on the shard.
- Supports the administrator account to grant permissions to DDM accounts using GRANT.
- Enabled metrics layer-4 outbound and inbound bandwidth usages when load balancing is enabled.
- Added a tip on the DDM instance details page, indicating that an EIP is bound to only one node. Supports the display of load balancing at the private IP address field if load balancing is enabled.
- Added a tip on the instance details page, indicating that load balancing is not enabled.
